Jackass the Game: Stupidity at its Finest

jackass_ds.gifJohnny Knoxville has this to say about Jackass the Game on DS. “We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies.” With a statement like that from the Jackass himself, do you think anyone will actually go out and buy this game?

Jackass the Game lets you be a part of the cast. You get to create your own character, customize its looks and adjust its attributes, much like what you do with Tony Hawk games. The similarity ends there. Unlike in Tony Hawk where you do skateboarding tricks, in Jackass the Game you will be tasked to do crazy and dangerous stunts in order to move to the next area. I enjoyed playing Tony Hawk, but I think I’ll pass on Jackass.

In single player mode, you can freely roam around the map, looking for any member of the Jackass cast and do the missions he asks you to do. The missions look as if it can be done on a single try but they are not. Trust me on this, frustration can easily set in. In one mission, you need to calculate precisely the power in which you launch yourself from a garbage truck then maneuver yourself while in the air to hit the target just in the right angle. What’s more frustrating is that once you fail in a mission, you can’t just retry it. You must go back to Jackass that gave you the quest.

Once the tasks of a certain Jackass character are completed, you have unlocked him as a playable character. All the Jackasses are in this game except for Bam Margera. Now that’s a smart move from him, not associating himself with a crappy game like this.

I enjoyed Jackass the show and Jackass the movies (1, 2 and 2.5) but I don’t think I’ll be Jackass enough to like Jackass the Game.
