Bubbling Up for Bubble Bobble Double Shot

What are the criteria for a game to garner a sequel? Well the makers of the unremarkable Bubble Bobble Revolution think that it deserves to have a second, make that a double shot. They released Bubble Bobble Double Shot for the Nintendo DS this month for the US market.
Retro gamers disappointed with the first Bubble Bobble game for the DS are in for a treat. Bob and Bub are back and they’re being reinforced by their cousin Bubu. Now here’s the twist. Instead of playing as either of the three, you get to control all of them at the same time. During the game, you switch from Bob, Bub or Bubu depending on what color the star floating around a monster will be. Sounds easy, does it? Well, at first it is but as you progress in the game, and more monsters coming towards you, switching can be a source of frustration.
Just like the original arcade game, Bubble Bobble Double Shot shows the stage at once. It utilizes both screens of your Nintendo DS. This is an improvement from Revolutions vertical and horizontal scrolling. At least you get to see where the monsters are.
Another new feature of Bubble Bobble Double Shot is the unlimited continues. Before you continue on, you must first beat a mini-game. This is a welcome break from the monotony of blowing bubbles into monsters.
There is a multi-player feature as well. Up to three players can play at once. This makes the game much easier to play as you need not to switch and just concentrate on killing your designated colored monsters.
So what do I think of Bubble Bobble Double Shot for the Nintendo DS? Well if by chance you get a hold of this game, keep it. It can give you hours and hours of idle fun. As to buying it for yourself, save your money for now and wait for it in the bargain section. Wonder where I can get the Bubble Bobble quest 1 0 serial crack? Hmmm…
