Friday Wrap Up: Konami/Hudson line-up, Big Beach Sports Review, etc

Nintendo still up yet down, the latest from Konami, Big Beach Sports bashed, and CoD WoW in this week’s Nintendo News round up.
Nintendo pounds rivals in July game sales
Nintendo takes up 8 of the top ten places in July’s Canadian gaming charts. The Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii takes the top two spots. Guitar Hero: On Tour is on third place. This goes to show that Nintendo is still the company of choice among the consoles.
Nintendo Needs To Reach Out to Shareholders
Though Nintendo is still selling a lot of games, its stock prices are on a decline. This is due to a number of factors such as a weak market, strong yen, Wii supply shortage, and more. I don’t know how a business can enjoy success and failure at the same time.
Press release from Konami/Hudson stated that it will release 3 new titles in the first quarter of next year. The games are Bomberman 2 for the DS; and Hard Working People and Koronipa 2 for the Wii. These are just the working titles for the games and could still be changed prior to their release.
Big Beach Sports is THQ’s entry on the mini-game bandwagon. The reviewer say and I quote, “Although THQ’s project does include at least one very welcomed presentational addition, you will be bored with its flimsy, carelessly envisioned and executed selection of minis in a matter of minutes.” I concur!
