Breaking News: Nintendo Announces the New DSi
Everyone knew that Nintendo would be releasing a new DS with built-in camera. But instead of a single camera, Nintendo DSi will feature 2 cameras, much to the delight of camwhores everywhere. It is said the future DS games can include Mii-like features. It has a 3.25 megapixel external camera and an internal camera as well.
And don’t look for the GBA cartridge slot anymore. It is replaced by a SD slot. This improvement makes the DSi 12% slimmer than the DS Lite. There’s talk about internal storage but no official word yet on its capacity. The screens are also a little bit bigger.
Additionally, Nintendo announced the launch of the DSi Shop, where users can download DS Ware games, much like the Virtual Console games of the Wii. Initials plans state that Nintendo will offer free Nintendo Zone hotspots at Japanese McDonalds.
The DSi will come in two colors, white and black. It has a retail price of 18,900 yen or US$178. The Japan debut will be on November 1, while non-Japanese gamers will have to wait until early next year for a chance to try the DSi.
So the question is, would you buy one of these when it becomes available? Post your thoughts below.
