Disney Presents Ultimate Band

Disney joins in the music game bandwagon with the announcement of its Ultimate Band for the Nintendo Wii and DS. Disney believes that rockers don’t just play music, they must perform it. Ultimate Band lets player get into character and have the performance of their lives.

I don’t know how Disney will pull it off. Unlike Rock Band and Guitar Hero, which come with Guitars and Drum Kits, Ultimate Band won’t need extra controller and will be controlled by the Wii remote and Nunchuks. Players can opt to be the lead guitarist, bassist or the drummer of the Ultimate Band. But don’t you think players will be more into the action when they hold guitars rather than the Wii remote and Nunchuk?

You can also try your hand being the front man of the band. But instead of singing, you’ll be performing hand gestures to keep the crowd pumped up. Each song in Ultimate Band is recorded for both the male and the female and there are songs in which features dual lyrics for both sexes.

Ultimate BandUltimate Band has over 30 tracks which include:

  • Beverly Hills - Weezer
  • Can’t Stand Losing You - The Police
  • Crushcrushcrush - Paramore
  • Curse of Curves - Cute Is What We Aim For
  • Fell in Love with a Girl - The White Stripes
  • Hanging On The Telephone - Blondie
  • Hold On - Jonas Brothers
  • I Want You to Want Me - Cheap Trick
  • Just What I Needed - The Cars
  • Make It - Aerosmith
  • My Generation - The Who
  • Our Time Now - Plain White T’s
  • Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson
  • Steady, As She Goes - The Raconteurs
  • The Great Escape - Boys Like Girls
  • Whip It - Devo
  • Anna Molly – Incubus

For the DS version, Ultimate Band is a rhythm based music game with a built in music studio. Players use the stylus to play drums, bass, lead guitar or be the front man just like in the Wii version. Players can even make their own music with it.

The Ultimate Band will be available for the Wii and DS this holiday season. This would be the perfect gift for young music lovers.
