Jo Koy’s Wii Experience

You know something has gone mainstream when it becomes part of a stand up comedian’s routine. This is what Nintendo Wii Sports has become. It has integrated itself into pop culture. Even old people enjoy a game of bowling or two. Some even compete with their children to see who gets the highest score.

Here’s video of Jo Koy and his experience with Wii Sports. Jo Koy is a rising stand-up comedian. I laughed hard at this.

      Mario Kart Love Song

Youtuber blinktwice4y made this sappy song about Mario Kart and Love. Geeky romantics would surely love this song.

        Punch Out!! on 2009

Another classic is making a comeback. Punch Out!! is said to be on its way to the Wii next year. The last game of the series was 1994’s Super Punch Out!! for the SNES.

What’s nice about Punch Out!! is that you dn’t have to be a boxing fan to enjoy it. I never liked boxing as a kid but I had lots of Punch Out!! moments with my friends. They used to sleep over at our house for some Punch Out!! tournaments.

Here’s a sneak peak on the Punch Out!! game for the Wii.

Liv, America, and Carrie Play for Me

Liv Tyler America Ferrera Carrie Underwood for Nintendo DS

Do you know what some Hollywood stars do during their free time? Well for these three ladies, they keep busy by playing with their Nintendo DS. According to the ads America Ferrera enjoys Super Mario Bros, Live Tyler trains her intellect with Brain Age 2 and Carrie Underwood pats her virtual dog with Nintendogs.

The ads, together with I Play for Me site, showcase the three women and their Nintendo DS. This marketing strategy definitely has the female crowd as its target demographic by featuring these three ladies of different backgrounds.

The I play for Me site contains video of all three with their DS games. It also has behind the scenes videos that are quite entertaining to watch as well. The site also recommends games that you might like.

If you haven’t seen the ads, watch them after the jump.

StillAliveDS but the Cake is Still a Lie

There are lots of Homebrew games for the Nintendo DS and indie developers are putting some good stuff out there. One of which is StillAliveDS, a 2D remake of Valve’s first person action/puzzle PC game, Portal. I think its developer T4ils should be commended for bringing Portal into the world of portable consoles.

Just like the PC game, players must use their wits and try to get through each stage while grabbing cake along the way. Players would still have to enter portals and determine how to reach their goals. The graphics is quite different from the original but it has its own appeal.

What’s best about StillAliveDS is that it’s free to download. T4ils even included a map editor so that you can create new maps for the game. Plus, you can share your maps to your friends.

Here’s a video from dsfanboy of how StillAliveDS is being played.

              Guitar Hero on Tour Video

This is a video review of Guitar Hero on Tour by IGN. They got to play with it three weeks before it officially launches. IGN hire me please!

Judging by the video, Guitar Hero on Tour’s gameplay is exceptionally good. Plus, it is compatible with the old DS version as well.

I know I’ve written about Guitar Hero on Tour before but I think this game is worth every space it occupies. I’ve never been this excited for a game launch since Super Mario 3 and World of Warcraft.

Are you getting Guitar Hero on Tour for the DS?

                Quantum Superposition Explained By Mario

Many-Worlds Interpretation is an interpretation of quantum mechanics. Basically, in layman’s terms it means that there are an infinite number of universes and that everything that could possibly happen in our universe (but doesn’t) does happen in another.

In short, just like Adidas’ slogan says, “Everything’s possible.”

Here’s a video that can illustrate Many-Worlds Interpretation. This video uses a Kaizo Mario World superimposed 134 times on top of another.

Even if you had an epic failure, stand up and try again, you might not have 100 lives, but the possibilities are endless.

Are Wii Fit or Are Wii Fat?

Wii FatWould you trust a machine to tell you how healthy you are? Wii Fit is being billed as the exercise game for the whole family. Yet issues arise about Wii Fit’s capability to accurately calculate a young child’s Body Mass index (BMI).

Obesity experts in the UK have condemned Nintendo after Wii Fit called a perfectly fit 10 year old girl kid fat. This made the kid’s dad angry.

“She is a perfectly healthy, 4ft 9in tall 10-year-old who swims, dances and weighs only six stone (84 lbs). She is solidly built but not fat. She was devastated to be called fat and we had to work hard to convince her she isn’t.”
