The NES Purse

Jeri Ellsworth proved that modding is not just a boy thing. She knew how girls love their bag and she made one that female gamers will surely want to have. The NES Purse has a built-in LCD screen with two NES controllers attached to it with Velcro. This is a portable gaming console that you can put your things in as well. Isn’t that cool?

Here are photos of the NES Purse.

    Nintendo Street Art

I love graffiti art. And when their subject is Nintendo then it makes it more special. These are just some street art that I’ve seen in the Internet that show various Nintendo characters.

If anyone knows the location of these, let me know. I would gladly appreciate it.

      Feature Mod: Nintendo Sixtyfree Lite-R

Benheck forums user SifuF has made a N64 portable that he calls Nintendo Sixtyfree Lite-R. It features Dual 3D sticks, D-Pad, L Button, expansion pack and a headphone socket. SifuF has trimmed the original N64 console into half its size and has made it portable with its own LCD monitor. This is probably the best N64 mod I’ve seen so far.

        Pushpin Start Mario

Flickr user Ranadok posted these photos of the project of University of Fraser’s CIS Student Association. According to him, the project used around 17,000 pins that took 2 months to complete. This project is not a pushover.

          Retro GameBoy iPod Case Mod

While browsing around the net I stumbled upon this classic case mod for the iPod. Some prefer silicon protective case for their iPod while I want this one. Cavco made this GameBoy iPod Case out of, well you guessed it, an old GameBoy.

What’s nice about it is that the buttons of the GameBoy controls the iPod that’s inside it. The B and A buttons are for volume control, Start to play or pause, Left for next song, and Right for last song. Good job cavco!

            Nintendo Wall Graphics

Let out your inner geek with these Nintendo Wallpaper Graphics from Think Geek. These vinyl restickable wall graphics feature Mario, donkey Kong and other creatures from the Super Mario World.

You can create your own Mario scene using the stickers with your own imagination the only limitation. I would definitely get this for my own computer room. The package contains 3 sheets of decals. You can choose from themes such as Donkey Kong, Super Mario Brothers and the New Super Mario Brothers.

You can order these stickers from Think Geek. Here are some photos of the stickers in use.

Why I stuck with Nintendo All These Years?

              mario 3d nintendo consoles

Since the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES came out, I am a Nintendo gamer. The NES revolutionized the gaming industry. It allowed third party developers to come out with games even though Nintendo did have strict restrictions.

Great games such as Contra, Super Mario Bros, Zelda and Metal Gear just to name a few, were released for this gaming console and it kept me entertained during my childhood years. Then Nintendo came out with their SNES console that had better graphics and audio.

Then GameBoy was released and it started my addiction to Tetris and Doctor Mario. The GameBoy is the first of many things when it comes to portable gaming consoles. It was the first handheld console that had high quality games in cartridges. Although it is in black and green, the games were entertaining. It is also the first portable console that allows multiplayer battles with its multilink port.

Retro console: NES in a Controller

Previously I have written about a NES System in a cartridge. This is much cooler than that. I have stumbled upon a mod that puts the entire NES system in a NES controller. G-force, a modder from Benheck forums, has this to say about his creation:

“I took a famiclone (Super Joy III) and put it in a controller, with a bit of style and quality added. It was made for my girlfriend who’s a big NES nut like me. That made it easy to guess a gift for her birthday. Just thought, “What would I want?” I got it made a little late, but it was worth it to make right.”

I’m sure he scored huge points with his girlfriend because of this gift. Plus his mini NES controller system has tons of features such as built-in games including Tetris and Contra, a cartridge connector at the back, and a 2nd player controller port.

G-force has a gallery of the components and the actual controller system here.

I found this photos from The Tanooki. Can you identify the different games represented?
