Why I stuck with Nintendo All These Years?

Since the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES came out, I am a Nintendo gamer. The NES revolutionized the gaming industry. It allowed third party developers to come out with games even though Nintendo did have strict restrictions.

Great games such as Contra, Super Mario Bros, Zelda and Metal Gear just to name a few, were released for this gaming console and it kept me entertained during my childhood years. Then Nintendo came out with their SNES console that had better graphics and audio.

Then GameBoy was released and it started my addiction to Tetris and Doctor Mario. The GameBoy is the first of many things when it comes to portable gaming consoles. It was the first handheld console that had high quality games in cartridges. Although it is in black and green, the games were entertaining. It is also the first portable console that allows multiplayer battles with its multilink port.

Then Nintendo took a giant leap with its N64 console. It introduced the analog stick controller and multiplayer mode. Notable games for this console are Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye 007.

Then GameCube was released. It is the first Nintendo console to ever use an optical disc as storage. I do wish this console was not invented. I skipped this one and opted for Sony’s Playstation. I did play Super Mario Bros Melee with my friends.

I went back to Nintendo when the Wii and DS came out. These two innovative consoles changed the way we play. The Wii introduce to gamers the Wii remote while the DS has its touch screen. When Wii first came out, everyone enjoyed playing Wii sports even with its simple graphics. AS for the DS, it goes wherever I go, though I do wish more fighting games for the DS.

That’s the story of my gaming life. What’s yours?
