Advance Wars: Days of Ruin heats up the battle on the DS

advance_wars_days_of_ruin.jpgStrategy games have never been this fun and tough at the same time. Advance Wars is back with a new darker look. Days of Ruin is set on post-apocalyptic Earth after a meteor crash rendered the planet into a dangerous battleground (I’m surprised anyone survived. Does this mean we’re tougher than the dinosaurs?). As a player, you must use your turn-based strategy skills to the fullest in order to restore a sense of humanity. The game has a more subdued tone to give it that nice, dark atmosphere - perfect for playing it alone in your room past midnight.

Take the Game to the Streets with FIFA Street 3

fifa-street-3.jpgEver dreamt of playing like Ronaldinho? With FIFA Street 3 for DS, you can. Plus, you can juggle, headers, bicycle kicks and other tricks. The game features today’s soccer icons and 18 of the world’s top teams. The characters have different animations and dynamic as well. The game features different venues in exotic locales that have nice texture details in them.

It is announced that FIFA Street 3 will be using the touch screen control feature of the DS. The game can be controlled almost entirely be the use of the stylus. The D-pad will be used for player movement but the passing, kicking and tricking will be done with a swipe or a tap in the touch screen.
FIFA Street 3 is a fun way to spend your idle time. Play the challenge mode to unlock extras like uniforms and balls. You might think you’re the best and to prove it you can challenge others with the multiplayer feature of the game. Hook up through single or multi-cart or you can try looking for some action through Nintendo Wi-Fi for some worldwide matches.

The game will not be complete without a good soundtrack. “This has always been a game with global underground credibility, and our responsibility is to always take its music to the next level,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA. EA Sports bring together the most radical breakthrough artist from around the world.

FIFA Street 3 is set on a mid-February release for the Nintendo DS.

Jackass the Game: Stupidity at its Finest

jackass_ds.gifJohnny Knoxville has this to say about Jackass the Game on DS. “We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies.” With a statement like that from the Jackass himself, do you think anyone will actually go out and buy this game?

Jackass the Game lets you be a part of the cast. You get to create your own character, customize its looks and adjust its attributes, much like what you do with Tony Hawk games. The similarity ends there. Unlike in Tony Hawk where you do skateboarding tricks, in Jackass the Game you will be tasked to do crazy and dangerous stunts in order to move to the next area. I enjoyed playing Tony Hawk, but I think I’ll pass on Jackass.
