Mario Kart Wii still lords it over at Amazon’s software chart this week edging out GTA IV for the number one spot. Amazon’s videogame game chart includes hardware and gaming peripherals but here is a listing of the top ten games as of this writing:

When was the last time you had a bright idea and wished you did it? Well Kyle Downes of Ultra Awesome ran out of storage space in his room. At the beginning there was clutter. A true gamer, his floor is littered with consoles, game carts and boxes.

His solution: Build a coffee table slash gigantic NES controller to store his stuff. The NES controller has been a project of many mod but what sets this mod from the rest is that it is immaculately built that you might think a professional carpenter made it.

Harmonix has announced that downloadable content will be available for the Wii version of Rock Band. Well sort of…

The downloadable content will not be in downloadable form but instead it will come in disc that contains songs previously released as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

This settles the issue of Rock Band for Wii not having any downloadable content. Fans of the game will be thrilled with this development as this means more music to be played on top of the 63 songs already packed into the game itself.

Everyone has held a Rubik’s Cube in their lifetime. Maybe not everyone has solved it but at least tried at least once. At present, there’s a renewed interest in the cube. It can be seen everywhere these days. And now it’s coming to the Wii and DS via Rubik’s World.

If you think that Rubik’s World is just virtual cube that you need to solve with the use of the Wiimote or DS stylus then you’re wrong.

He described it as:

Classic NES Mega Man on my room’s wall, made of 7×7cm paper squares, about 2m in height.

I have always been a Megaman fan. This is a great concept. Maybe I’ll do it using Post-Its.

Bad news for those waiting for a Wii and DS price cut. It’s unlikely to happen this year. Nintendo’s Wii console and the DS handheld is still number one in their respective categories. With the demand still high and the supply is low, the price is expected to be high.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said, “Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don’t think we are going to need them.”

Well the big honcho has spoken. No speculations there. This came out after Nintendo’s announcement that it will increase Wii and DS production this year to quench the demand of their products.

Sony, the maker of PlayStation 3, has already slashed its retail price to compete with the Nintendo Wii while the Wii’s price has remained constant since its launch. The PS3’s price is still double than the price of the cheapest Wii.

A friend asked me to recommend bike games to play on the Nintendo Wii. I could only think of one game and that is Dave Mirra BMX Challenge.

There might be some obscure bike games released which stayed under the radar but as far as I’m concerned Dave Mirra BMX Challenge is the only bike game for the Wii. And this game is not even worth wasting your time on. I got my copy of it from the bargain bin.
